Jungian Dream Analysis
For people who have a genuine interest in their own dreams and have been drawn to Jungian Dream Analysis, where is the best place to start? I offer an Introductory Zoom Session where I will interpret and explain clearly up to 3 of your most important dreams. The accurate interpretation of dreams is so important for each of us because dream misinterpretation is so common now, which can negatively affect our psychological and spiritual growth. With the immense rise of A.I dream interpreters and online dream dictionaries, it is difficult for me to watch the amount of radical misinterpretation of dreams taking place on the internet. Anyone with a reasonable grounding in Jungian Psychology will understand that while an accurate interpretation of a dream will bring the dreamer closer to the Self, a misinterpretation, particularly a significant misinterpretation, has the great potential to take the dreamer further away from the Self and a life of psychological wholeness.
Introductory Sessions are free and provide you with a real opportunity to experience Jungian Dream Analysis. I have over 10 years experience of working exclusively with dreams for a living. I use Zoom for my sessions which is easy to use, convenient and allows me to connect with people from around the world. For more information, please see my pages on Accurate Dream Interpretation, The Harm Caused By Dream Misinterpretation and Introductory Sessions. Below is some further information on Carl Jung and his revolutionary approach to dreamwork.
Carl Jung And Jungian Dream Interpretation
Carl Jung (1875-1961) was a Swiss Psychiatrist, Psychologist and Psychotherapist who founded the school of Analytical Psychology which is also known as Jungian Psychology. Jungian Psychology unlike all other modern psychologies, places immense importance on the role that dreams play in our own psychological wellbeing and growth. Carl Jung, over the course of his life developed a way to interpret dreams and apply the important messages contained within them to the individual’s life path. Jung’s method of dream interpretation is often called Jungian Dream Analysis, Jungian Dream Interpretation or simply Dream Analysis. Jungian Dream Analysis is the foundation of my work as a dream guide and interpreter. Please see my About page for more information.
Early in his career, Jung began to notice that his patients, many of whom were suffering mental illness including anxiety, depression and schizophrenia, were often dreaming, drawing and painting symbols/images that had important historical significance, even though the patients themselves had no knowledge of those symbols and their history. This discovery led him to become incredibly interested in the world of symbols and he soon discovered that certain symbols could deeply influence an individual’s own psychology. This interest drove him to travel throughout the world to study the important symbols and their associated mythologies that appeared in different cultures. The countries he visited included Kenya, Egypt, Sudan, The United States, India, England, Greece and France.

One of Carl Jung’s most important and influential books is Symbols Of Transformation. I mention this because symbols are much more than simple images. Jung studied the significant power that certain symbols have on human psychology. Some symbols have incredible power to draw immense interest and/or passion, while other symbols can generate intense fear, anxiety and repulsion. Jung frequently witnessed in working with his patients’ dreams, powerful symbols and narratives that the patient had not seen before. I have had the same experience with the thousands of dreams I have interpreted for people. The key to understanding how this is possible is what Jung called The Collective Unconscious, a profound field which serves as a reservoir of symbols and their interrelated narratives that are accessible during the dreaming process. Accurate dream interpretation is only possible when the interpreter has undertaken significant studies in the area of The Collective Unconscious. Please see my page on Accurate Dream Interpretation for more information on this.
Carl Jung also discovered that each of us has not just a biological blueprint in the form of genetic DNA, but we each have a psychological / spiritual blueprint which shapes our life as it tries to move us into certain life directions at certain times in our lives. Our psychological / spiritual blueprint cannot be researched under a microscope like DNA, but rather by tracking the blueprint as it unfolds through our dreams in the form of the symbols and narratives that are present. Jung called this psychological / spiritual blueprint - ‘Individuation’.
Understanding and tracking archetypal symbols and narratives is challenging work due to the reality that both personal and collective symbols evolve over time because inner life is never static. Jung understood this and I am very thankful that he wrote about this subject extensively. So to be a capable dream interpreter and help guide people through their own psychological / spiritual journey requires serious commitment to the inner world of archetypal symbols and their inherent themes. This involves both the study of the symbols and themes that appear in the dreams of the individual, as well as the collective symbols and stories of cultures around the world in the form of mythology, religion and art.
On the internet there is a great deal of misinterpretation regarding Jungian Psychology and Jung’s guidance on how to work with dreams. Authentic Jungian Dream Interpretation (Jungian Dream Analysis) is rarely practiced in today’s world. However, there are a number of good resources on Carl Jung and his psychology if you take the time find them. Below are two videos that are good introductory foundations on Jungian / Depth Psychology and the nature of dreams.
